I studied Human Biology at the University of the Free State and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2006 and his Honours degree in Medical Science – Anatomy and Cell Morphology in 2008. I received my M.Tech. Mechanical Engineering in 2016. I started my career in 2007 as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (CRPM) at the Central University of Technology (CUT) and was appointed in my current position at the CRPM as Project Engineer: Operations in 2008. Up to date I have to date been involved in 34 medical cases, six of which I was instrumental in the design and manufacturing of custom DMLS titanium implants, including the first hemi-mandibular DMLS prosthesis implanted in South Africa, in 2014. I also played a vital role in the critical process of ISO 13485 certification of CRPM and have a sound knowledge and understanding of a quality management system. The CRPM completes around 550 commercial projects annually and has a client base of around 700 national and international clients.
