I am currently employed at the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology in Arandis and I am responsible for all I.T. related tasks, designs, infrastructure, security and the implementations on all four campuses (Arandis HO, Arandis Town, Tsumeb and Keetmandhoop). At my previous employer, GIJIMA AST, I carried the responsibility of all projects, technical solution proposals, tenders and all I.T. related risk assessments. I have strong capabilities around Microsoft solutions and licensing assessments. Teamwork, Risk Management, Compliance and Technical solutions have always been my strong point. I have extensive experience in all areas in the Information Technology field. In my first position, I was responsible for customer relationships and running server farms at both Namdeb and De Beers Marine Namibia for seven years. During this time, I took on the added responsibility to assist with Networks / Infrastructure for both companies. At the time of leaving employment with De Beers I was responsible for the management of all I.T. Infrastructure Support and Systems across the company at DBMN (De Beers Marine Windhoek), including monitoring and disaster recovery of all LOB, Infrastructure and Network systems. I have previously held the position of Microsoft Snr. Technical Account Manager for Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana for eighteen months and before that the position of Account Technology Specialist for almost 5 years at Microsoft where my main function was to support the account team by consulting and assessing customers and partners in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Malawi, in order to look for opportunities for Microsoft related products and technologies (solution selling). This approach enables Microsoft to help its customers with their roadmap, infrastructure optimization and strategies going forward. I have a total of 26 years’ experience in the IT industry. Nineteen (19) of those years were spent in the Infrastructure field and Systems management. The last 7 years were spent selling Solutions and Consultancy to External customers in order to minimise risk and show the value of their current I.T. portfolio/investments. I have been a CIO & Consultant for Bidvest Namibia for 18 Months, aligning their Microsoft Licensing with their Software and Technology Roadmaps. I have a very clear and in-depth insight into online services. I am constantly upgrading my qualifications & technical knowledge and skills and have endeavored to do my CISSP certification. I enjoy challenges, have very good people skills and a clear management strategy.
