• Day to day running of 4 production plants• Ensuring production targets are met• Reporting on financial performance of the production facilities• HR and union Liaising• Project manager on various projects, including improvement projects and building of 3 new plants• Supplying technical support to the maintenance department• Ensuring production rejects are kept within set limits• Supplier liaising and Procurement of equipment • Implementation of SANS product quality systems• Maintaining the plant health and safety system in accordance to OHS Act 85, 1993 and relevant regulations• Improving plant efficiencies and process flows• Machine design using AutoCAD (2D and 3D)

• Ensuring production targets are met• Responsible for developing and implementing health and safety systems which comply to the OHS Act 85, 1993, while acting in the capacity of 16(2) legal appointee• Responsible for machine maintenance and ensuring maximum uptime of production lines• Liaising with the HR department regarding strategic movements within the company• Interviewing and appointing successful candidates in vacant positions• Carrying out disciplinary hearings

• Investigating and determining the capacity of production machines and supporting utility sub-systems• Compiling of P&I Drawings• Compiling project timing plans utilizing MS Projects• Selecting equipment and instrumentation suitable for the application and environment at hand• Setting up meetings with vendors, in order to find the best suited equipment and instrumentation• Negotiating the best prices from the vendors and placing the orders using JDE• Planning and overseeing electrical installations• Designing of, and overseeing the building and wiring of MCC’s (Motor Control Centres).• Upgrading and expansion of Medium Voltage sub-station• Cold commissioning of the S7 raw material and production plants• Hot commissioning of the S7 raw material and production plants (±R50m Capex Project)• Programming of GE Fanuc PLCs, ABB AC Drives, SEW Servo Drives, GE Fanuc HMIs, Modicon PLCs and OPC servers.• Ramping up, and general maintenance of, the S7 raw material and production plants.

• Compiling of PID drawings• Analyzing existing production plants and utilities, in order to improve productivity and efficiency• Fault finding electrical systems, PLC programs and Cimplicity SCADA systems• Compiling time studies of batching systems to identify weak points and bottlenecks• Design and commission add on sections to existing production plants
