Responsible for the assessment, compilation, and implementation of health, safety & environmental plans for construction sites, I am accountable for the full HSE function within the company.• Informing the client, principal contractor and contractor’s management, on the HSE financial implications on the project, during the tender stage• Participating in project meetings with the M&T professional team and contractor management team, providing feedback on progress, HSE issues, financial implications, disabling injury frequency rate, and environmental issues• Alerting both teams to any other dangers that may arise in respect of the public, traffic, adjacent buildings, noise, pollution, fire risk, and falling objects• Identifying hazards and implementing control measures on all construction sites• Implementing environmental control measures in respect of correct waste disposal and control of physical hazards• Conducting construction site inspections and workplace audits to ensure legal compliance according the OSH Act• Conducting monthly contractor HSE file audits, providing management with weekly site reports• Presenting HSE training to all employees according specifications• Conducting staff training on safe work procedures, and personal protective equipment• Ensuring all employees have the required PPE per site specifications• Conducting and recording incident and accident investigations, and providing reports• Coordinating the return of injured workers into the workplace• Ensuring HSE files are according to client and construction specification regulations• Assisting contractors with their HSE files and related documentation• Ensuring all concerned parties are informed of any urgent changes to ensure total HSE compliance• Compiling weekly reports for all contractors• Assisting in the completion of risk assessments on all tasks to be performedSenior health and safety officer, health and safety manager, occupational health and safety advisor
