An engineer with over 30 years of executive level experience in the metals and mining industries. Has extensive knowledge in establishing and growing early-stage enterprises, as well as integrating of business functions to optimise earnings and has an established track record of working with and managing multi-disciplinary and multinational project groups.Played a key role with two UK AIM listed companies to establish mineral processing operations extracting valuable metals from chrome and PGM mine waste. Oversaw several development projects with responsibility covering the full implementation from design, permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning to ongoing profitability as well as including development of business models and investment reports. These projects currently have a total annual production of over 100 000 ounces of PGM’s and are the lowest cost producers in industry. Initiated copper and cobalt operations in Zambia for a listed group, overseeing the production of copper cathode from historical tailings and run-of-mine ore purchased from small-scale license holders. Primary responsibility also included the research and development of economically feasible solutions for the treatment of copper and cobalt from low grade run of mine stockpiles and discards, encompassing innovative technical development, process and plant design, procurement, construction and commissioning of these projects.Led a bankable feasibility study for a copper/gold project in Zambia for an Australian listed company. Conducted scoping studies to establish mechanized, alluvial gold projects in Ethiopia, in close cooperation with Government and the artisanal sector.
