I have been able to successfully bring global expertise to African telecom clients. I was the lead partner in an engagement to support the internal audit division of a leading telecommunications operator in South Africa. The assignment involved supporting the internal audit division of the client in managing the department, developing internal audit plan and executing internal audits as per the plan. I also led a revenue assurance engagement at a fixed line and data services operator in South Africa. The engagement involved an in-depth review of various revenue streams and development of recommendations to support Revenue Assurance function.I currently have an audit portfolio consisting predominantly of IT service companies, where I am responsible for the quality of work of KPMG, managing relationships with clients and signing the audit opinion.KPMG Africa's Communications Centre of Excellence is my responsibility and it is positioned to deliver services to clients in the telecommunications industry by developing local skills and rolling out niche services. As well as act as a hum for the other Centres of Excellence to coordinate efforts between KPMG to the benefit of clients.

Between 2004 and 2009, I was involved in the statutory audit of Telkom SA Limited during which Telkom was corporatized, partly privatised and ultimately listed on the SA stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. It was during this period that I was responsible for the audit quality, relationships with management and the audit opinion.In addition, my client responsibilities included lead partner responsibility for Telkom SA namely: daily interaction with Telkom management, ensuring KPMG was always available to Telkom.
