Meeting the ATOS and ATOP each month by operating according to the production plan, setting up the production budget, volumes and cash fix/variable cost. Implemented tracking tools and monitoring systems to track product quality and making sure all is in required specifications. Adhering to governmental requirements regarding Safety, Health and Environmental requirements. Having regular interfaces with the OEM Haldor Topsoe in Denmark. Striving towards continuous improvement by improving the efficiency on a continuous basis. Chairing the PDR meetings daily, morning meetings daily, BBS committee meetings bi-monthly. Driving cost saving by managing the amount of urgent and emergency work and the permit work process. Provide valuable inputs into Capital projects in order to reduce cost. Developing strategic plans to optimize production and reduce downtime. Developing a training plan for the 8 shifts to enhance their operational skills. Ensure the optimal usage of inspection one and tracking outside readings. Meeting customer demand and ensuring final product quality is on the required specification. Ensuring raw material availability as well as getting long lead items in store well ahead of required date. Managing turn arounds and daily tasks with visible felt leadership.

Atr, Rectisol & Fuelgas Blending

Manager of 45 production personnel and 1 maintenance coordinator the production personnel are distributed amongst 5 shifts, monitoring their activities, performance, development and overseeing their day to day activities. Assist in incident investigations, RCA's, HAZOP's, disciplinary enquiries, PDA's. Developing of PDP's and managing of overtime. Do senior standby after hours in case of an emergency. Meeting budget volumes each month by operating according to the production plan, setting up the production budget, volumes and cash fix/variable cost. Implemented tracking tools and monitoring systems to track product quality and making sure all is in required specifications. Solving complex chemical and manufacturing problems to meet budget. Adhering to governmental requirements regarding Safety, Health and Environmental requirements. Having regular interfaces with P&O and Haldor Topsoe. Chairing the PDR meetings daily, morning meetings daily, SHE committee meetings bi-monthly. Driving cost saving by managing the amount of urgent and emergency work and the permit work process. Provide valuable inputs into Capital projects in order to reduce cost. Driving the work management system in an effort to reduce cost and making sure the plant is 100% available in between scheduled shutdowns. Assisting with the planning and managing of the statutory shutdowns and running the capital catalyst replacement projects. Driving a safety culture towards zero harm with a high level of operations discipline.

Ft3 Cobalt Catalyst Plant

Manager of 25 production personnel, 1 maintenance coordinator and 1 production administrator, the production personnel are distributed amongst 5 shifts, monitoring their activities, performance, development and overseeing their day to day activities. Assist in incident investigations, RCA's, HAZOP's, disciplinary enquiries, PDA's. Developing of PDP's and managing of overtime. Do senior standby after hours in case of an emergency. Meeting sales each month by operating according to the production plan, setting up the production budget, volumes and cash fix/variable cost. Implemented tracking tools and monitoring systems to track product quality and making sure all is in required specifications. Solving complex chemical and manufacturing problems to meet sales. Adhering to governmental requirements regarding Safety, Health and Environmental requirements. Having regular interfaces with the SBU, P&O, BASF licensor in De-Meeren Holland and clients in EGTL and ORYX Qatar. Striving towards continuous improvement by improving the catalyst quality and reactivity on a continuous basis. Chairing the PDR meetings daily, morning meetings daily, SHE committee meetings bi-monthly. Driving cost saving by managing the amount of urgent and emergency work and the permit work process. Provide valuable inputs into Capital projects in order to reduce cost.

South Africa

Manager of 44 operations personnel distributed among 4 shifts, monitoring their activities, performance, development and overseeing their day to day activities. Assist in incident investigations, RCA's, HAZOP's, disciplinary enquiries, PDA's, Fire water performance tests and fire tenders performance tests. Developing of PDP's and managing of overtime. Level 3 standby for works emergency team. Also manages the maintenance department of emergency management, consisting of 5 maintenance employees, with duties that consists of pressure testing/maintaining/repairing of all emergency equipment throughout 2 sites.

A2100 Air Seperation Unit

Worked as the interface manager, between Air Products and Sasol at the A2100/Oxygen plant, duties and responsibilities include; Managing of the all the fixed and variable costs on the budget, forecasting, managing of several projects and the capital of those projects, overseeing all maintenance activities on site, releasing of all PR's and service acceptances, managing an O & M contract on behalf of Sasol for Air Products with safety as the number one priority, overseeing all shutdown related activities and costs, budgeting for all utilities and maintenance activities for upcoming financial years. Project manager for various projects on the A2100 plant, part of all RCA's, HAZOP's and FMEA studies. Part of the commissioning team for the SUEP expansion in the A2100 plant, adding 4 new ingersol rand compressor's to meet expansion demand on the site for plant air and instrument air.

Sasolburg

Was the chemical technician for ATR and Rectisol (Infragas). Duties included; recording of process information, analyzing of data, generate reports, make recommendations, design automated spreadsheets for various functions, developed tools for use and distribution. Part of Johan Meyer's MIT team for the saving of water, visited 29 sites and identified a lot of no cost, low cost projects to be implemented to save money on the SUEP project. Developed a tracking model for the MIT team, which is still in use and seen as a best practice. Developed the PSM 1.12, 1.3 and 1.8 elements for ATR and Rectisol.

Completed S2, S3, S4 and the practical P1 and P2 in this time. Chemical Engineering.

Infragas

Developing of training matrixes and developing of training material for ATR and Rectisol. Gave intensive training on the Hot start, Cold start and shutdown of ATR. Gave intensive training for the IS systems in use at ATR. Had to give training to 40 Nigerians for the EGTL project on reforming. Received an award for excellent trainer and reducing the average start up time of the ATR plant.

Atr

Managing shift 4 at ATR. Developing of PDP's, assisting during plant startups, plant upsets and any other operational issues. Writing of permit to work, managing shutdowns and permits related to that. Training of staff, also had 8 Nigerians on shift for the EGTL project. Compiling of logbooks, shift handover. Assessed people on NQF level 2, 3 and 4. Making sure that the product is produced to specification and on time.

Starting up and shutting down of Gasifiers from the outside as well as the Panel. Distribution of gas to the site and maintaining the factory pressure. Troubleshooting when gasifier tripped. Commissioning of systems, steam, oxygen, water, etc.

Duties included moving loading cars, cleaning of screen with rubber hammers, cleaning shutes, removing debris from conveyors, cleaning of magnets, sweeping floors and picking up spilled coal with shovel.
