Born in The Netherlands, Van Lierop has nurtured his Dutch design roots while being professionally raised in New York City. Fueled with wit and grit, Van Lierop has developed an investigative attitude towards every unique design challenge -regardless of scale or program- with a critical eye for both concept and detail. Van Lierop gained extensive work experience as Principal architect at the highly acclaimed Studio Libeskind in New York, where he has been the lead designer on many hi-profile projects. His multifaceted portfolio ranges from private villas to hi-rise residential, from museums to shopping malls, from objects to master planning.Johan studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Maastricht earning a BA degree in Interior and Product design and received a Master of Science degree in Architecture at the prestigious Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, where he is also currently teaching.
