This was accomplished through pre-commissioning, correct planning and pro-active engagement with the customer and project support teams. o Kusasalethu winder control system upgrade. - Led phase 1 of the Winder upgrade project , responsible for the Capex application, scope of work, budget and implementation which included the upgrade of the supervision systems and speed position controls.o NCP TLP 1 and 4 PCS7 upgrade. - Successfully completed the NCP TLP 1 and 4 project upgrade throughout the project life cycle. By utilising Simit prior to commissioning, were able to reduce possible error and allow an improved and streamlined implementation process. Achieved profit during the design phase by changing products and reducing panel building time. - o OTMS Tank Farm in Saldanha Bayo Winder upgrade at Phalaborwa Mining Company. - Improved the daily tonnages per winder on a project upgrade at PMC. The skip payload was increased to 34T, cycle time of the winder changed and new features where added to the loading system to improve the cycle time to 121 seconds. All within the correct safety protocols of the winder and shaft. -

Successfully designed and implemented the largest PCS7 upgrade project in Africa at Phalaborwa Mining Company (PMC). The project was implemented in stages over a 12 month period running the old system in parallel to the new system installation. Integrated 10 different libraries into 1, created 2 ethernet networks and upgraded the entire system from version 4 to a universal version 7 system. • Preventative maintenance and optimisation on winder and underground automation sub-systems. • Identified faults and implemented improvements to automation systems that were not meeting the required standards. • Selected and implemented new hardware required to streamline processes and the installation and maintenance of all automation systems. • Performed site and project management, risk assessments, scope of work, manpower requirements, cost calculations and budget control. • Led control room and project teams ensuring regulatory compliance of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) requirements. • Set the engineering standards for the PCS7 automation upgrade from 4 to version 7. • Performed initial Capex applications, calculating costs and scope of work, technical interchange, budget planning and presentation to board for approval

• Contracted to Spoornet for the commissioning and servicing of the Class 38 and 14E1 locomotives and the repair of variable speed drives. • Performed site and project cost management, fault finding and reporting, hardware and software modifications, preventative maintenance and updating of documentation and user manuals. • Involved in the commissioning of the four koupe winders at Phalaborwa Mining Company.
