At the Deltares Software Center I have worked on the development of spatial data infrastructures and the analysis, processing and visualization of spatial data using Geographical Information Systems. The results help in structuring and understanding complex processes for typical Deltares-topics, such as marine and coastal systems, river morphology and soil.

The topic of my PhD-thesis is the exposure assessment of electromagnetic fields (EMF) from mobile phone base stations. A geospatial 3D-model is applied to estimate EMF-exposure for large populations. The results will be used in ongoing epidemiological studies about potential health impacts of EMF.

I worked for the European Facility for Airborne Research (EUFAR), a research initiative from the European Commission, where I analysed the uncertainty propagation in the processing of airborne hyperspectral images.
