CGIF vzw was started by Johan Belmans, Midge "Mantissa" Sinnaeve, Mats Lemmens and Robin Sinnaeve out of a desire to bring their local creative community together.Wanting to give back to the CG community by sharing their experiences, CGIF vzw and CGIF Fridays were created.After a few years of hosting CGI Fridays, it's time to take things to the next level. DAC-ANT will be the first larger event hosted by CGIF vzw and will take place on May 1-2-3, 2020 in the form of a conference. Check out the DAC-ANT website for more info!HISTORYBefore CGIF vzw, CGI Fridays were first organized as the Max User Group (MUG) in Antwerp by Johan. After a number of years, Midge joined and the decision was made to expand the event further than just 3ds Max users to the local CG community.Those were called 3D meetups first, and were finally re-branded to CGI Fridays to incorporate the larger CG, VFX and AR/VR landscape. From here Midge and Johan had talked about doing a larger event, but that finally materialized when Robin and Mats joined to form the non-profit CGIF vzw. Currently, CGIF vzw is the organizing body behind DAC-ANT, a digital art conference in Antwerpen, Belgium.

Midge from The Mantissa and I (Johan) from Belly.be are organizing a Meet Up for people from the 3D industry. We will meet regularly in a pub in Antwerp where they serve some excellent Belgian beersWhat will we do: drink some beers and talk about nurdy stuff at least the people next to us will think so. We will exchange experiences and business cards, discus work and workflows and lots more. It all depends on what you want.

MUG stands for 3ds Max User Groupa bunch of 3Ds Max users who come together and share their knowledge and expertise. We do not have any commercial intentions, no nonsens pure MAX.
