Doctoral research on technoscientific mediation and human agency in the emerging field of nanoelectronics and nanobiotechnologyThis research used insights from different disciplines such as philosophy of technology, social science action research, technology assessment, ethical decision-making and principlism, and constructs them together. Its originality and significance originates from the combination of insights rather than from the theoretical comprehensiveness of each discipline.Mediated agency and actions are illustrated in two case study chapters: one on nano-enabled diagnostics in livestock disease management and one on nanobiosensors in human medical health care.
