As an eager, naturally curious IT professional with seven years of progressively increasing responsibilities in IT operations and security, I work across many vectors to improve procedures and mitigate threats. I manage day-to-day operations of user-facing accounts and systems, promoting and implementing ITSM standards throughout the company. I am responsible for enforcing NIST SP 800-171 compliance, and administering cybersecurity best practices across the organization, including: configuring and monitoring user-facing accounts and systems for performance and security, planning, testing, and deploying hardware and software systems in our on-premises datacenter, installing and updating client agents and security patches across the end-user fleet, restricting and preventing unauthorized access to company resources, and training users on how their contributions improve the entire organization’s security posture.I started as internal “air traffic control” fielding all incoming end-user requests for IT assistance, triaging and addressing needs between Project Managers, Developers, Accounting, and IT. My ability to translate between these different groups as an intra-departmental liaison now informs my work as a Systems Analyst, where I regularly traverses between system requirements gathering with Project Managers and technical implementation with IT. My prior work in other industries such as Graphic Design and Corporate Indirect Procurement, in addition to IT experience and certifications, inform a broader perspective bringing these Business and Systems Analysis and Customer Service insights into the IT field. My holistic approach to protecting end-users, particularly by excelling in communication with all stakeholders, attains buy-in for better individual security hygiene from all employees, not just those in IT. Empathetic communication and interpersonal dexterity are my superpowers in an industry that historically devalues proficiency in soft skills. I have successfully championed and implemented high-level internal initiatives for the organization, ranging from upgrading physical server host hardware in KBSI’s on-premises datacenter, to implementing an entire-company transition to fully-remote work (and then again back to a hybrid model). Whether working through hours-long calls supporting with less-technical users, or troubleshooting which line of code is the root cause for a failed script deployment, I aim to be all things to all people, so that by all possible means, I can advance individual objectives and corporate goals.
