As a Ruby on Rails Engineer at WebVolta, I play a pivotal role in crafting robust and dynamic web applications from both the backend and frontend perspectives. As an engineer, I collaborate closely across all teams to ensure all concepts, visions and goals are met and brought to life.On the backend, I spearhead the development of new features, maintenance of legacy applications, enhancement of existing features and troubleshooting bugs and issues when they arise. Rubocop and RSpec are used during the entire process to ensure that code is clean, consistent and the application is free of any newly created issues so nothing breaks along the way. From conceptualization to deployment, I am deeply involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle.Simultaneously, I take charge of the frontend development using technologies like Bootstrap, Stimulus and Turbo to translate design mockups into responsive, visually engaging experiences for all users that interact with the application. As the lead developer, I was responsible with collaborating with cross functional teams across our full client roster. It was my responsibility to work closely with the designers to ensure designs could be executed within budgetary constraints as well as come up with a development plan on what platform or frameworks would be utilized on a per-project basis. A majority of our client work was done utilizing WordPress and the Foundation front-end framework. All themes were created from scratch primarily utilizing custom fields to create the administrative interfaces used by clients. Some other internal and client projects allowed more flexibility and were needed in a rapid manner, to which Ruby on Rails was utilized to rapidly create and ship a product.

Working with a small team, I assisted in the redesign and building of http://legalstreet.com. The storefront was built on WordPress; HTML5, SCSS andPHP were used to create WordPress templates for different types of pages. Javascript was used for targeting visitors geolocation for drop down menufunctionality. Working with a talented teams of designers and developers, we helped Target with the refresh of target.com. My primary duties were to building cross browser compatible components that were accessible to populate the pages of this enterprise website. My other primary duty was building larger scale featured content sections that consisted of accessible image carousels, buying guides and 3–4 panel sliders. Some tools utilized were Jira for job, time and issue/bug tracking, TeamSite for publishing CMS components, and the IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce was also utilized for publishing Open Container components. Skills utilized daily on the job were HTML, CSS, Javacript, jQuery and Accessibility/Section 508 rule and guidelines.
