Since the beginning of my three and a half years of working education at the high-tech Optotechcompany, I have been fascinated by the engineering business. At the beginning of my job education Iworked with conventional turning and milling machines and later on with CNC and modern 5-axismilling machines, through this experience I was able to have great insights into the world ofmanufacturing. After my apprenticeship I acquired a position in prototype development and pilotproduction where I learned a great deal about materials, CAM programming and cycle timereduction. All that made me curious about what else the engineering business may offer me as aprofessional.After my working education and job apprenticeship I evaluated my opportunities and decided thetechnical college for mechanical engineering would be a good step for the future of my profession.After my degree I was ready to take a chance and mix my practical experience with my newlyacquired theoretical knowledge and started a position as an application and sales specialist for thewell known Swiss company Fraisa. My job was to help our customers in a lot of different waysincluding, how to better machine difficult materials, how to be more productive while machining,which strategies should be adapted for machining and production, higher precision for milling andways to cut cost for individual parts among other tasks.Over the next three years I had the chance to work with many interesting companies and their ownunique manufacturing issues. I worked with very different industries including the aviation industry,automobile industry, the medical field, watchmaking, and tool manufacturing.My job did not only require technical knowledge but also economical knowledge as well which Ifound very interesting. That interest sparked the idea to continue my education and take a masters intechnical management (CCI) in the evenings and on weekends while I worked full time during theweek. That education has enabled me to move up in Fraisa as a sales team leader forBavaria-Saxony-Thuringia regions. Currently I have the opportunity to push the boundaries in themanufacturing industry in south east Germany within my company Fraisa.
