I am the Managing Counsel, Global Public Sector at McKinsey & Company, a leading consultancy firm. My expertise is in international public procurement law, with more than 15 years of practical experience in this field. Together with my team, I provide support to McKinsey & Company teams across the globe on high-priority public tenders both during the contract formation and contract administration stage. Furthermore, I counsel on procurement compliance, anti-corruption, sanctions, and other matters that touch closely on government regulation and policy.Before I joined McKinsey & Company in 2019, I was managing director of an internationally recognized Austrian public procurement boutique law firm. My experience and success in different areas of public procurement have been recognized year after year. For instance, I was named a “Next-Generation Lawyer” in the Legal 500: Europe, Middle East & Africa 2017, 2018 and 2019 edition and was the only lawyer who received that recognition in the category of public procurement in Austria.I have published more than 60 works and have delivered just as many lectures on government contracts. Currently, I serve as vice-chair of the International Public Procurement Committee, Public Contract Law Section, of the American Bar Association and am the only European holding such a position.I graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business with distinction as a Doctor of Business Law and earned my LL.M. at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom; coursework for both degrees focuses on international public procurement law. Along with my primary degree in law from the University of Graz, Austria, I also studied in Portugal and in Brazil.
