Relied upon to ensure the Quality Assurance of 200 NCM trades and Officer initial training courses at 10 CF training centres serving approximately 1500 students annually. Kept up to the pace of managing 10 nationally dispersed schools. Managed and evaluated 4 Officers responsible for course standards and 2 civilians accountable for database administration, library functions, and continuous course improvements.- Scope of responsibility included 4 sites at Borden: CF Fire and CBRN Academy (CFFCA); CF Training Development Centre (CFTDC); CF Logistics Training Centre (CFLTC); and CF Chaplains School & Centre (CFChSC). Schools external to Borden consisted of CF School of Military Intelligence (CFSMI) in Kingston; Canadian Defence Intelligence (CDI) in Ottawa; School of Military Mapping (SMM) in Ottawa; Defence Public Affairs Learning Centre (DPALC) in Ottawa; CF School of Meteorology (CFSMet) in Winnipeg; and CF Service Personnel Detention Barracks (CFSPDB) in Edmonton.- Brought in a more strategic operational approach to the portfolio. Established Chief Instructor and Chief Standards Working Groups to deal with daily issues at the school level. This paved the way for more of a system-wide focus to optimal training standards.- Routinely reviewed, synthesized and analysed data from all facets of program standards to ensure quality, consistency, currency and performance metrics. - Served as Borden’s representative at IT&E modernization working groups for the formation comprised of Borden, Kingston and Ottawa).

Steered the documentation process for the newer Aboriginal, Diversity and Employment Equity Programs. In the Education Policy portfolio, set policy for CAF-wide Education Reimbursement, CAF-wide Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) programs. Maintained the equivalency database that supported collaboration between the CAF and Canadian universities and community colleges (CAFCOD - CAF Colleges Opportunity Directory). Provided stable direction for 20 direct reports.- Contributed to the CDA Aboriginal Team by planning, researching, developing, and formalizing funding and standards for 2 new Special Measures Aboriginal Programs. Team earned a DND Corporate HR Award.

Responsible for the on-going development and progression of Air Force operational, maintenance and support training. Also responsible for the transition of Contractor-developed training and education into steady state / mainstream training.

For the first 2 years, appointed as the Officer in Charge of Quality Assurance, Standards and Projects. Developed the training documentation for CAF support Occupations and conducted training and education projects for CAF units and establishments in Kingston, Borden and Ottawa.- For the final 3 years, served as the Senior Instructor for the Training Development Officer Basic Qualifying Course (TDO BQC). Redesigned the entire program, which was delivered once annually for 14-16 Junior Officers. Within 3 months in class and 2 months in field projects, produced graduates

Promoted, coordinated and advised on systematic approaches to training and education spanning quality control, instructional systems, curriculum development and course content.- As the Maritime Command HQ Validation Officer, managed Regional Individual Standing Offers (RISOs). Contracted out for training and education specialist support for RCN training programs. Surveyed Graduates of training programs and their Supervisors on how well they had been prepared for their operational jobs. - Conducted a Tiger Team approach to identify better methods of validating Naval training and education. Recommended a new approach that was implemented at 4 out of 8 major naval training establishments.- At Maritime Forces Atlantic Headquarters in CFB Halifax, steered all team training within the East Coast Fleet and Junior Officer progression of practical shipboard components of Maritime Surface Officer training.- During Operation Apollo, prepared ships and crews for the NATO blockade of the Arabian Gulf.- Translated between English and German as needed. Appointed as the Liaison Officer for German music bands attending the Nova Scotia International Tattoo. For Operation Support (9/11) provided daily updates / briefings to 3 planeloads of stranded German passengers over a 10-day period. - As the Standards Officer Training Development at CF Training System Headquarters at CFB Trenton, validated training for 1500 courses, on a 5-year cycle.- Taught instructional, course design and evaluation courses throughout Canada and at CFB Lahr, Germany.- Supported CAF units and establishments lacking resident training development expertise as an internal Training and Education Consultant. Headed a project team that updated and created content-rich courses.
