Johannes has 15+ years of experience in disruptive innovation in the industrial & energy sectors, leading the way in predictive AI, modern SCADA and robust real-time control. To jumpstart clean-tech companies, Johannes founded Evergreen Innovations in 2016, providing the in-depth technical expertise that many technology developers cannot acquire in-house.Evergreen Innovations operates on both sides of the Atlantic, in California USA and in the UK. Johannes has handpicked a world-class engineering team with a can-do attitude and full of enthusiasm to drive innovation. The team’s expertise ranges from hard real-time FPGA solutions to secure, high-uptime cloud deployment of predictive AI. We are immensely proud to have contributed to some real landmark projects in industrial innovation. We provided critical input into the software design and real-time components that now drive one of the world’s largest wavemakers with 216 individual axes, each axis controlled using force-feedback (NSWCCD). Very recently, we provided significant support for the software design and automation of highly innovative multi-MW, grid-connected battery systems. Our team is equally skilled in designing solutions from the ground up in HDL/C/C++/Golang/JAVA/Python or using readily available IoT solutions for data capture, database management, data processing & visualization and alerting. Example IoT tools we use on a day-to-day basis include Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Prometheus, Thingsboard, and AWS. Our team loves giving back, with active teaching and mentoring roles in software, engineering and innovation at Imperial College London and the University of California, Davis. To enable the next breakthroughs, we drive R&D at the forefront of the renewable energy sectors in wave and offshore wind technologies to broaden California’s and Europe's energy mix. To achieve this, we have built strong collaborations between industry, National Labs (including NREL, Sandia, and LBNL), and standardization bodies (IEC). We are a proud partner on several Department of Energy grants via EERE and ARPA-E.
