As the Dean of Research at SANS Technology Institute, I oversee the academic and applied research activities of the leading provider of cybersecurity education and certification in the world. With over 13 years of experience in this role, I have developed and implemented innovative and cutting-edge research projects and programs that advance the field of cybersecurity and benefit the global community of network security professionals.I am also the founder and director of the Internet Storm Center, a collaborative platform that collects and analyzes network threat information from thousands of sensors around the world. The Internet Storm Center has received multiple industry awards and recognition for its valuable and timely insights and reports on network security issues and trends. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise in cybersecurity, network intrusion detection, and web application security through teaching, speaking, and writing. I am a senior instructor and certified in GCIA, GWEB, and GNFA by the GIAC Certifications. I teach SANS SEC503 and SANS SEC522 courses and frequently present at community and industry events.
