Managed Woodward’s Virtual Design and Construction department. The group was comprised of Virtual Construction Coordinators, who had architecture and engineering degree backgrounds and were skilled in various BIM (Building Information Modeling) software programs. The VDC department was an internal resource for preconstruction, operations, and the field crews of Woodward Design+Build. I was responsible for promoting BIM internally by educating staff, lead the strategic implementation, development, and deployment of BIM, addressed RFP’s and managed clients’ BIM expectations, maintained an understanding of the BIM trends of the industry, researched BIM enabled delivery methods such as IPD, and managed teams comprised of VCC’s.

Returned to Woodward to create new engineering department. Engineering manager responsible for structural and civil engineering design, building the department from the ground up to service the growing needs of Woodward Design+Build. Structural engineering design experience includes the renovation and new construction of a wide range of commercial projects including car dealerships, warehouses, hotels, multi-family apartments, assisted living facilities, educational institutions, multistory office buildings, parking garages, sports facilities, and healthcare facilities. Woodward is a design-build general contractor established in 1923. Responsibilities included:- Manage and supervise department resources - Develop, review, and approve scopes of work and estimates- Manage all structural contracts- Monitor work progress and ensure QAQC standards are adhered to- Prepare performance reviews of staff- Engineer of Record on all in house designed projects- Develop new and maintain existing client relationships for engineering work but also assist the company's business development efforts for design build projects.- Introduced Autodesk Revit in 2008 as the main design platform for deliverables.

Joined in August 2005 however Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and forced a prolonged evacuation. Returned to New Orleans to begin rebuilding. Performed over 2000 structural inspections for home and business owners over 2 year period. Conducted forensic analysis and documented findings in reports to determine wind vs water cause to damaged buildings and fire damage. Participated in numerous depositions on behalf of homeowners and attorneys. Clients included owners, attorneys, investors. Areas covered include St. Bernard Parish, Orleans Parish, and Jefferson Parish.Structural engineering design of renovations and new buildings also performed.

Fortunate to find a position with Crafton Tull who was in need of a structural engineer while New Orleaneans were dealing with Hurricane Katrina.

Began career as a field intern at Tulane University's Environmental Sciences Building in final year of construction during senior year of college, and upon graduation, began engineering design practice by performing foundation and structural designs for commercial and light industrial facilities, mostly in the New Orleans Metro Area.

Lectured and taught Autodesk AutoCAD to undergraduate and graduate civil & environmental engineering students

My career began as a field intern to the Tulane University Environmental Sciences Building. I assisted the onsite project manager and field superintendent with RFI handling, specification research, and other duties as requested by onsite personnel.

As a student intern, I worked in the transportation department. Duties included using handheld traffic counters and monitoring vehicular traffic for traffic studies in downtown New Orleans.
