Octinion is a mechatronics company with a focus on agriculture.In 4 years time, I’ve helped Octinion grow from a company of 6 to a company of 40+. I was the goto software and IT expert.Projects where I was the software development lead include (but are not limited to): strawberry picking robot, autonomous vehicles both in open field and in greenhouses (development going from drivers for hardware support to path-finding algorithms to app development to cloud infrastructure), several inspection systems based on computer vision and artificial intelligence and a greenhouse automation system with cloud connectivity.I’ve worked on IT integration projects where I integrated several systems: JIRA, Confluence, Netsuite and Teamcenter.

This mainly consists of managing medical images and video.Within eSATURNUS, I was responsible for lowering the cost of a development cycle (sprint). This involved optimizing the build process (building of a Debian based Linux distribution), introducing continuous integration and automating the more difficult and time consuming QA tasks (e.g. assessing video quality).

Nikon Metrology provides 3D inspection solutions, mainly for the automotive industry.In this function, I’ve worked on both local and international projects and helped release several 3D scanners and several software packages (Focus Scan, Focus Handheld, Focus Inspection, CAMIO, Nikon Metrology API).My main expertise was the processing of the raw scanning data and converting it to point clouds. I also implemented several drivers for 3rd party positioning systems, several calibration procedures, continuous integration processes and GUI modules.
