I'm a swedish fashion designer and a jewelry maker with a long and unique experience and crossreferences from film, style and art direction. After graduating Beckmans College of Design in the late eighties I started working at renownded Swedish fashion company Gul & Blå with Lars & Maria Knutsson who at the time were at the center of Swedish fashion hub for young people in Sweden. After that I continued on my own as a consultant and together with a friend we started doing freelance assignments in the Swedish fashion industry. Later I was called upon by Swedish fashion photographer Patrik Andersson and talked into do styling which led to working with both editorial and commercial media for many years. During that period of time I worked as director, stylist and art director within the Swedish filmcommunity first with television productions and later with Mod Film and Petterson-Åkerlund for commercials and promos, great times and good fun, but at the same time I had met my wife and we started a clothesbrand so my focus shifted to that and I slowly quit working for media, even though we started our own stylist agency, Schalin Shoot. My role there was only that of a partner. In the early 2000's I shifted to work with denim again and before short I was hired by Tiger Of Sweden as a senior designer at Tiger of Sweden Jeans where I've been working between 2007 and 2020. In the spring of 2020 I have finished my Master Of Fine Arts Degree at Konstfacks Craftprogram Ädellab, Major in jewellery and I'm now doing jewellery and objects under the name of "The Black Door".
