General Manager (Store Leader)
Lead a team of 45-50 team members to turn around an 18 Million CAD revenue-generating Best Buy store to become one of the highest and consistently performing stores in Canada through strong values-based leadership, by developing a robust team culture of trust, empowerment, learning, and engagement, and by ensuring a high standard of operational execution in every facet of the business resulting in the store growing to become a 22 Million CAD revenue-generating business. Key Contributions:• Developed an underperforming team to become one of the highest performing stores resulting in our team becoming one of only two stores in the entire of Canada to achieve all six KPI’s exceeding expectations for the year 2023. • Increased Operating Income of the store by 18% over a two-year period (FY 2021-2023) since joining the store and achieved the highest 4-Wall Sales % to Budget in the country for 2022 earning the store an exceptional trophy.• Store was awarded 10 Trophies across the two years for consistent and exceptional results of various KPI’s creating a sense of pride and a winning mentality for the team. • Attracted and grew talent by personally taking charge of hiring, on-boarding, training, and coaching of team members enabling the store to not only promote from within but to also become an exporter of high potential talent and future leaders for other Best Buy stores and Headquarters.• Increased engagement of the store from 72 to 82 (GLINT Engagement Index) and increased response rates from 69% to 83% within a year of joining the store. Converted the top three opportunities: Growth, Recognition, and Opinions Count to become the store’s greatest strengths. • Represented a District of 11 stores as the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Captain to ensure DE&I initiatives and company programs were communicated, implemented, and executed across the District.
