An entrepreneur, John started a business in 1979 with his father and brother Jeff, called Service Blueprint. A few years later they purchased a similar business and Jeff moved to Montgomery to operate that new location. In 1990, eleven years later, they had an opportunity to merge with another company in Birmingham which had been in business since 1954. Alabama Graphics (ALGX) was born. This year, 2014 they celebrate 60 years in business. John and Jeff are still running the day to day operations of the company. John became C.E.O. in 2005 and Jeff became President in the same year. Their company was built on blueprints but is now powered by digital technology and experience. Their leadership group averages 21 years with the company and a combined 326 years of industry experience. ALGX specializes in equipment sales, on-site facilities management, scanning, project based document workflow and printing in the AEC and many other industries. Several years ago ALGX started putting much more emphasis and time into growing its large format color division DCX (Digital Color Graphics) for POP, trade show, retail, franchises and many other industries needing large color.Over the last several years they have transformed and rebranded their company to compete and be successful in other markets outside of their core business. Also important to John is giving back to the industries they have served. He has been an active participant on many boards, volunteering his time in an effort to improve not only the industry but his company as well.Specialties- what we do well: customer service.
