I lead the Rural Land and Business Department at Anderson Strathern. It is one of the largest dedicated teams representing rural landowners and land managers across Scotland. The Department is ranked Band 1 by both Chambers UK and Legal 500.I am an Accredited Specialist in Agricultural Law and a member of Scottish Land & Estates Legal Group. The Department is a member of NFUS and Confor.The Department is active in the purchase, sale, lease and management of all types of rural property with expertise relative to agriculture, forestry, strategic and development land sales, shooting and fishing rights, public access and land reform. In recent years it has acted in several significant estate, forest and farm transactions. It also has expertise in agricultural tenancy matters, including representation in the Land Court, agricultural tenancy reform and housing legislation. In collaboration with other practice areas within Anderson Strathern the Department has expertise in all types of onshore energy and mineral developments and utility and telecoms negotiations.As part of its full service offering Anderson Strathern also has significant experience relative to succession and tax planning, planning and environmental law, employment law, company law and business structures.Our approach is client-centered, collaborative and commercial.
