John Songin is President & Chief Underwriting Officer for Worldlink Specialty, LLC, a leading Specialty Managing General Underwriter (MGU) focused in the Aviation/Transportation sector. A seasoned insurance leader, John began with Worldlink in Q3 2023 with executive responsibility and oversight over all aspects of the MGU’s operations. He joined from Ascot Group, where he was Vice President of Partnership Engagement for the Central U.S. In this senior market-facing role, he was responsible for client relationship management, new business development, and external branding efforts for the Group in the region.Prior to joining Ascot in 2021, John spent nearly a decade with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, most recently on the Sales & Distribution team leading executive level, strategic relationship management of targeted brokers in the United States and Canada. John was previously a Senior Underwriter Specialist in the Aviation and Agriculture sectors, with increasing responsibility. John began his career at Chartis Aerospace Insurance Services as an Aviation underwriter.John received a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Saint Louis University and is an FAA-licensed Commercial Pilot with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings. He is a member of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s Midwest chapter Associate Board and is part of the planning committee for their 2023 “Inclusion in Insurance Global Forum.” In his free time, John enjoys competitive swimming, sailing, enjoying Chicago’s impeccable food scene, and is an avid Buffalo sports fan.
