The project's design utilized the distribution of non-food items (NFIs) to test and assess the existing emergency coordination system and processes in the country. At the same time, it supported the immediate needs of conflict-inducted internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have returned to their place of origin (i.e. returnees) in two regions (Oromia and Somali) of Ethiopia. In the process, valuable learnings were identified that provided an excellent foundation for further programming of support to NDRMC in the future.
