Support project countries in South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) to institutionalize techncial and functional capacity for emergency response in national partners from NDMO, Health Ministries, Fire Service, Civil Defense, Military, Police, Red Cross-Red Crescent Society, and community first responder Volunteers funded by USAID-OFDA. Activities include development of sustainable strategies to integrate CADRE, MFR, CSSR and HOPE in to regular programs of partners and scale up scale out to increase its outreach.

• Lead project management activities like development of annual work program, regular donor reporting, budget management, monitoring and evaluation;• Provide technical inputs in the implementation of Urban Search and Rescue, hospital preparedness training, hospital risk assessment, emergency response planning, development of field exercises on emergency response in partnership with Department of Disaster Management, FSCD and DGHS, NIPSOM;• Facilitated the national adaptation of WHO Hospital Safety Index (HSI) and applied in conducting assessments in 15 hospitals in Bangladesh. This process initiated the development of hospital emergency response plans and validated the plans through the conduct of simulation exercise;• Setting up Hospital Incident Command System and operationalization of hospitals command centers including the design of HICS training package and conduct of courses;• Provide technical inputs in developing USAR equipment and tools for community urban volunteers including storage and maintenance;• Develop the concept of Bangladesh Incident Management System (IMS) including proposed activities on exchange study, national workshop and baseline capacity assessment

Lead technical specialist for emergency preparedness and response management providing support for various projects and programs for the department and the center. Asian Preparedness Partnership is to improve the preparedness and emergency response to disasters by strengthening the interface between the government and local humanitarian organizations and enhancing capacities through partnerships, information exchange and knowledge resources, trainings, and networking opportunities. Project countries include Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Provided overall project management and technical guidance in the implementation Advancement for recovery Initiative for Safer Ethiopia (ARISE) project as jointly implemented by the National Disaster Risk Management Commission of Ethiopia (NDRMC) and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). The project aims to increase NDRMC and its partners' response capacity to ensure timely, effective, and well-coordinated responses to future complex emergencies in Ethiopia. The project's design utilized the distribution of non-food items (NFIs) to test and assess the existing emergency coordination system and processes in the country. At the same time, it supported the immediate needs of conflict-inducted internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have returned to their place of origin (i.e. returnees) in two regions (Oromia and Somali) of Ethiopia. In the process, valuable learnings were identified that provided an excellent foundation for further programming of support to NDRMC in the future.
