o Research Assistant for Prof. Ji Liu who is researching on Distributed Real-Time Power Electronics Diagnostic and Prognostic using Self-Evolving Digital Twins. o Analyzed the effect of small-ripple approximation on the equations of inductor current and capacitor voltage in Boost converters. o Investigated IEEE research papers and discovered errors in proposed methods.o Created different approaches using Laplace Transform to solve the converter equations. Discovered the difference between the new approaches and the original equations to be 1%, thereby validating the small-ripple approximation.o Coded in MATLAB to test and plot graphs of derived equations and Overleaf to write Latex reports of results.

• The objective of the project was to detect drowsiness from a normal picture of a person irrespective of what lies in his/her background. A drowsiness detector such as this could be used in the automobile industry where ‘Drowsy driving’ accounts for about 100,000 crashes annually on the roadway, 71,000 injuries and 1,550 fatalities each year (AAA Foundation).• Code was written in jupyter notebook and was run using the python kernel.• Used pytorch version 1.8.1 for python and CUDA 11.1 on windows.• Imported dependencies such as matplotlib and OpenCV into the jupyter notebook.• Used the ultralytics yolov5s algorithm in object detection.• Custom trained the model using custom datasets made using github repository LabelImg.
