John Acree, a Senior Manager at International Resources Group’s (IRG) Relief and Reconstruction Division since 1999, has more than 17 years experience in natural disaster humanitarian assistance, complex emergency relief, post-conflict disaster response, reconstruction and stabilization programming, and development management. During the 1999 refugee crisis in Albania, he served as the U.S. Senior Advisor to Albania’s Emergency Management Group overseeing the country’s stabilization, return, resettlement, and reconstruction efforts. During the initial liberation of Afghanistan in 2002, he served as the Senior Advisor to OFDA, the USAID Mission, and US Special Forces engineers to assess and improve humanitarian aid transport corridors into Afghanistan from Tajikistan.
