Since my interests cover many aspects of Society I have tried to become quite diverse in how I spend my time.Over the 30+ years I spent as an educator, I have taught Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physical Science, Applied Physical Science, Earth Science and Electricity. During those years, I have coached Girls' Track specializing in shot, discuss, long jump, pole vault and high jump. I have coached Freshmen Boys' Cross Country, Boys' and Girls' Swimming, assistant athletic trainer and was an IHSA Track and Field official.Most of those years I was the Science Department Head and on all the committees that were expected including teacher evaluation, curriculum, building and grounds, school improvement and more.The world of Physics kept me involved via the American Association of Physics teachers where I was a member of PTRA and the High School Physics Committee. I participated in numerous county institutes where I presented demonstrations for the classroom teachers.My most recent adventures have included driving a bus for local park districts to include both seniors and youth. I find relating to either to be a refreshing experience and it benefits the local communities. Besides these activities, I am still a substitute educator and school bus driver. Luckily, I have kept my certification going in retired status. This means students can still participate in labs both in science and shop.
