Working in the Cell Therapies team in the Drug Product department.

Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of various projects involving the purification of antibody products to Drug Substance level in a late phase environment. Providing input and guidance for the delivery and operation of pilot plant processes and scale up from bench scale development and scale down model study. Established relationships with vendors in the development of new products and technologies for testing and implementation at bench and plant scale. Worked on antibody projects for continuous manufacturing and process intensification to support intensified output. Operated and performed experimental set ups including harvest filtrations, single pass TFF, capture and polishing chromatography, membrane absorber based filtration as chromatography replacement, viral inactivation and filtration, UF/DF. Supported documentation, process development and transfer report writing. Working also in Early Phase development projects supporting pipeline deliverables.

Acted as Functional Lead of various projects involving the purification of antibody products to Drug Substance level in a late phase environment. Involved in the process development steps from Capture, Viral inactivation, Depth filtration, Polishing, Viral filtration and Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration. Produced process description/transfer protocol and development report documentation at end of projects. Aided in troubleshooting of scale up purifications in pilot plant operations. Worked on process improvement technologies alongside production plant to implement single use technology improvements within the project pipelines. This involved testing and developing use of prototypes and new technologies, working closely with product vendors and plant staff.

Acted as lead downstream scientist developing chromatography based processes for the purification of whole virus antigens/viral vectors. Involved in project development and transfer processes as well as batch production record and standard operating procedure writing. Developed downstream purification processes for Dengue type 1, 3 and 4 whole virus antigen. Acquired skill set in medium throughput screening of purification conditions, dead end harvest filtration, chromatographic column packing and qualification and virus characterization assays.Involved in root cause analysis investigations of processes and products and development of assays and testing methods for biomolecular characterization.Developed skill set in a downstream purification environment, virus identification by SDS-PAGE, Western blot, silver stain, RT-PCR, ELISA and rapid test immunodiagnostic kits.

Acted as Laboratory Manager at NYU Langone Skirball Biomolecular Institute. Worked as an Assistant Research Scientist on projects involving the purification of membrane proteins in connection with the New York Structural Biology Center. Major project involved mutagenesis of the metal transproter protein YiiP leading to publication. Performed upstream bacterial fermentation and solubility screening of target proteins. Performed downstream detergent solubilization of selected membrane proteins and chromatographic purification. Prepared liposomes and proteoliposomes for functional studies of transporters.
