Traveler turned staff. My primary position is as a staff nurse in the cardiac cath lab circulating and monitoring diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, structural heart procedures, implants/ EP cases, and Interventional Radiology cases. My other contributions include charge nurse (team lead) responsibilities, representing the department and hospital in the Chest pain Center accreditation committee, the Kern County STEMI system of care committee, reviewing and revising the department's policy and procedures, charge entry and assisting the current manager with various projects.I have revised the interdepartmental written report forms which were then used by administration as a model for the hospital wide "SBAR" form and several smaller forms used within the department.I took over a project to replace the aging intercom systems in our procedure rooms after three vendors presented systems which did not meet our requirements. I found a vendor who configured the system we needed and I presented the quote to administration. The vendor I found worked with us and the price ended up over half the cost of our lowest prior bid and the system was exactly what we needed. The system was approved and in use.I am currently coordinating bids and presentations from four vendors for replacement of XRay systems in two of our procedure rooms and a new hemodynamic monitoring system for all four procedure rooms as well as a new modular MRI unit. This project has an anticipated cost of roughly $2M and has included 7 vendor presentations, site visits, four proposal quotes with revisions and five final bids.
