The methodology is broken down into 12-16 sessions ( depending on the duration of the time commitment /allotment by the groups of individuals engaged. Each session lasts approx.. 1 ½ to two hours. Although the method is classified as “Art Therapy” I’d prefer to have it understood as counseling or CBT and “art as therapy” in that art by it’s nature is already therapeutic and this methodology is designed to provide more than the moment of peace and engagement. It must enforce the sense of progressiveness and forward discovery which art and sense perception are entirely engaged. Intent herein is to enable individuals to get out of treatment ( not remain) and provide a trusted “tool box” that will be implemented as part of an ongoing process of maintenance.

My roles as director was to curate, nurture, collaborate, install/ mount, promote, market, underwrite, coordinate and schedule (inclusive of load-in and strike) all exhibitions, locally and internationally. Our community outreach programming was implemented by a collective of artistic directors from each of our 11 resident theatre company (RTC) under my supervision. The constituency for our programing extended from local public and private schools to community based organizations ( GMHC, LGBT center, Open Door, Asian American Women Against Domestic Violence, Women in the Arts, Artists in Recovery, )…. Numerous groups in the Tri-State area,. In addition to the practical application of tasks I oversaw the intern programing and outreach public/community education projects. These projects integrated the art and artists, at our facility and abroad, with the various populations and cultures in shared public interest. From children’s theatre and storytelling to poetry, lecture series and meaningful exhibitions scheduled to accommodate a diverse and engaging public. My experience over the past 30 years encompasses all aspects of fine art including, but not limited to; curating, appraisal, critical writing, exhibition display, design and promotion, fiscal development, grant writing and private support, public relations and social media networking, has focused upon international exchange and public programing, with interns, entry level graduates and international exchange students.
