Chief Security Officer, John A. Smith, founded Conversant Group in July of 2009 as an outgrowth of his passion to see businesses succeed. He understands there is an absence of leadership in many businesses around the world today. Most companies, especially public ones, become bottom-line focused, and unfortunately, this focus uses and abuses the people within and outside the business. He is a fervent believer in doing the right thing, and his mission is to cultivate a business built on solid principles that treats people as they should be treated both within and outside the organization. John has over twenty-five years experience in Information Technology, and over eighteen years experience running IT related businesses. Using the knowledge gained from consulting hundreds of customers and from formal education at Covenant College and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, he is able to guide businesses through organizational, managerial, and technological challenges. John is an out spoken advocate of ethical, intelligent business practices. His leadership is one of trust, flexibility, openness, and understanding. He views his customers, staff, and partners as extended family, and as such, he believes Conversant has an ongoing incentive to see its customers, staff, and partners succeed. He doesn’t measure success by dollars, but he measures Conversant's success by the success of its stakeholders. His favorite saying is, “Do the right thing, and the dollars will take care of themselves.”
