Lawyer, qualified to plead before the Supreme Court, holds a Law degree from the Athens University and a Master’s Degree (DEA) from the University of Aix-en-Provence (France). He has 16 years of expereience as Partner of a major Athenian Law Firm and, since December 2010 is the General Counsel of HELLENiQ ENERGY Group. Focuses on M&A, corporate and regulatory issues, as well as on the management and handling of any legal issue related to the operation of the largest energy group in Greece. He is a native Greek speaker with professional English and French and conversational Spanish and Italian. For a number of years he was a Board member and/or secretary to the Board of Directors of various Greek companies. From 2013 until 2018 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the “Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) S.A.". Today he is Chairman of the Board of ELPET VALKANIKI S.A., VARDAX S.A. and HELPE DIGITAL S.A. and Director in four other companies of HELLENiQ ENERGY Group. John is also a member of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Council of the Athens Stock Exchange and since January 2020 is Chair of the Legal Issues Group of Fuels Europe (Division of the European Petroleum Refiners Association). He is a regular participant, either as a speaker or panelist in Greek and international law conferences and has published studies and articles in the Greek and international legal press.
