As Finance & Administration Manager I managed the syrup operations for three brands of CBC portfolio in Ecuador Tropical, Manzana & Rock Star. In two years, we improve profitability & market share. Sales grew from 2.5 M of USD to 3.3 M of USD and net profit rose to an 890 K USD from a staggering 500 K USD before my tenure. We reduced the average day collection period from 59 to 39 days, reduce third party short term debt, and reduce inventory to 21 days for local sourced materials, and 59 days for imported raw materials.

Prospected and developed the international marine fuels business for the company. As Business Line Manager, grew the market share from 1 to 10% in two years. Sales increased up to 24.9 M of USD by the end of 2009. Credit receivables of 25 M of USD average, on a monthly basis. Net Income before Interest, Tax and Depreciation was 2.5 M of USD. I and my team managed to bring down payment terms to 21 days’ average for the I-Fuel Oil from 43 days. For Marine Gas Oils, we reduced to 7 days from 30 days. I had to manage the supply chain for Shell Ecuador lubricants oil blending plant. I had to forecast, follow up, and keep track for delivery of raw materials and finished products (specialties). The prior keeping in mind working capital, and satisfying service level agreements. Purchase of Raw Materials - 35.7 M de USD Annual Basis. Purchase of Specialties - 4.5 M de USD Annual Basis. In order to bring back financials into line, I had to bring down inventory levels and working capital key performance indicators, I streamlined an application used by the company, follow up carefully and work hand in hand with third party suppliers. These actions allowed us to reduce raw materials lead times from 5.4 to 2.1 months. Additionally, for local purchases I reduced the inventory days from 90 to 45 days, and finished product from 43 to 21 days. I also reduced the number of suppliers, and streamlined payment terms on a monthly basis.
