I worked alongside the Senior VP, Policy & Communications and company executives to develop the strategy and objectives for the Public Policy & Communications team in the face of unprecedented policy challenges in top markets throughout the globe. We rapidly scaled the organization from a few dozen to hundreds globally, shifting the organization from a traditional policy approach to a proactive political campaign style advocacy arm, tasked with designing and passing favorable short term rental legislation at all levels of government. As Chief of Staff, I helped keep the trains running on time and managed a central operations team that oversaw the yearly strategic planning process, developed yearly and quarterly goals, and allocated and tracked millions of dollars of programmatic & personnel funding among 30 unique local policy campaign teams. I provided dotted line management, coaching and training to the senior leadership team, set team goals and mediated through team challenges and roadblocks.

I oversaw the development of Airbnb's grassroots organizing apparatus, tasked with identifying and mobilizing Airbnb hosts to get involved in their local policy process and self advocate for favorable home-sharing legislation.We applied community organizing principles traditionally used in political campaign and advocacy work and applied them to Airbnb's host community, deploying organizers to nearly every major market in the world. The program was one of the first and most expansive examples of a tech company utilizing grassroots organizing to support policy and user retention objectives.

As campaign manager, I developed and executed a strategic campaign plan focused on lowering prescription drug prices in San Francisco, securing over 70% of the vote in support of the ballot measure. I led all aspects of the campaign including message development, funding, and political coalition building.

I assisted the General Election Director in managing and organizing a 15 member senior staff, managed inter-departmental working groups, maintained internal databases and budgets, coordinated senior staff information flow and provided scheduling support. I oversaw statewide project management, including large scale event logistics and crowd management for presidential and principal campaign events, staff training with over 300+ attendees, and smaller scale senior staff meetings and presentations. I strategized and executed various senior level projects, including state-wide bus tours, a supporter housing program for over 900+ staff and volunteers, managing the HQ internship program, and anything necessary to win.

I managed and implemented the daily schedule for then-Supervisor David Chiu, coordinating movements and serving as full-time onsite staff for all private appointments and public appearances. I compiled and presented daily briefing materials, managed information flow from campaign leadership to the candidate, and assisted in all matters of a citywide mayoral campaign, including extensive fundraising, field operations, political outreach and event management and production.

I assisted six regional field desks in a large-scale national grassroots operation headquarters, administered and managed the HQ Internship program. In 2010, I was deployed to Pennsylvania for the special Senate Primary and Midterm Elections, managing a statewide material distribution plan and assisting senior staff in project management.

I supported the Constituency Director and statewide constituency outreach programs and policy development, staffed and organized principal surrogate travel and campaign events, assisted in the development of a large-scale statewide ticket distribution procedure for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
