Currently a retired previously Visiting Professor at Liverpool John Moores University and university of Chester. Now a freelance scientist and sailing journalist.Has a formal educational background in clinical chemistry, agriculture and applied zoology, animal nutrition and physiology and biochemistry. Have worked in all these areas, the development of rapid assays, the study of mycology and mycotoxins and other quality parameters in agriculture, food and feed. These were in conjunction with large national and international projects and published widely in these areas and been involved in several patents.Recently involved in the preparation and delivery of research funding from various international donors, formation of the Centre for Restricted Diets, business engagement and knowledge transfer. Also the delivery of research funding from various donors in the food and feed areas.Have been an external post Graduate examiner for universities in two different foreign counties and also a reviewer for peer reviewed papers.In the future, to further develop and maintain existing national and international links, to promote collaboration and societal cohesion through these links particularly between low and high income countries and different cultures. Continue to explore funding opportunities for R & D and commercial projects not just confined to the agriculture and food areas.
