 Reporting to Vice President of Resident Shows, the CM is responsible for all show operations and partner relations for $165m production at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Partner with Marketing/ PR, Box Office, and Front of House Operations for strategic and operational planning. Accountable for an annual operating budget of $25 million and a staff of approximately 300 FTEs, including 74 performers, 170 technicians, as well as front and back of house support staff. Negotiated artist fees and all contractual requirements for multi-national cast representing 23 countries. Mandated to maximize efficiency while protecting the safety and integrity of one of the most technological shows in the world performing 470+ annually, and reduced operational expenses by 10% over 3 year period.

 Managed all technical operations of a new production in state of the art $200m facility from final construction phase through load-in and opening.  Assembled and managed technical operations team of 100+ technicians including Technical Director and 8 Department Heads in Audio, Automation, Carpentry, Lighting, Projection, Props, Rigging and Wardrobe. Created and implemented $15 million annual operations expense and labor budget. Developed and nurtured partner relations to ensure the facility and its systems functioned at optimum level and quality required through scheduled maintenance, modifications or additions. Created and implemented policies and procedures related to show operations, facility safety and evacuation, as well as artist and technician safety and rescue. Location Production Manager for Cirque du Soleil: World’s Away family fantasy film written and directed by Andrew Adamson produced by James Cameron.

 Manage the technical team of 58 in 6 departments including Audio, Automation, Carpentry/Props, Lighting, Rigging, and Wardrobe and operations for the $35 million cabaret production at the New York, New York Hotel and Casino. Developed and maintained partner relations with hotel executive and management teams, as well as manage all day to day technical operations with the mandate of seamless and safe show operations for 470+ performances annually. Created and managed budgets for daily operations, as well as 5 year strategic plan to ensure the production’s safe and continual operation in conjunction with potential profitability. Built and maintained vendor relations and negotiated contracts for service agreements and maintenance/capital projects. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of all preventative and reactive maintenance, as well as staff training programs in OSHA, fall protection, forklift, welding, and other safety and show specific systems. Strategic planning for all dark periods to ensure materials, labor, 3rd party engineering, and all required permits had been secured. Additional responsibilities included supporting Technical Show Support and Human Resources with global recruitment, industry seminars, panel discussions, trade shows, and job fairs.

 Engineer and oversee construction for all scenic designs along with fiscal responsibility and pre-season budget projection for materials and labor allocating approximately $450,000 annually. Delegation of all scenic aspects for ambitious 26 show season, including the Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays performed in repertory in arena, thrust and black box theaters. Duties and skills include the execution of all scenic working drawings and the design of all motion control and rigging systems, including proficiency in AutoCAD 2002, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, AC and DC motors and control. Oversee hiring for scenic staff and training of new members.

 Duties included budgeting and scheduling of union shop staff and over hire labor, as well as drafting all shop drawings using AutoCAD. Supervise all aspects of builds and load-ins into arena, thrust, and cabaret theaters. Assist in design and implementation of motion control systems including but not limited to: hydraulics, pneumatics, electric motors, radio frequency control, ABS controllers and PLC control units. Construction techniques include standard theatrical construction as well as various welding techniques including steel, aluminum and other metals with Mig and Arc welding systems
