With nearly a decade of military service in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), I became a skilled and certified instructor and team leader as part of the Air Force's elite bomb squad. While serving as an EOD Instructor at the DOD's EOD Schoolhouse, I trained and mentored hundreds of joint and international students in EOD principles, techniques, and procedures, preparing them for some of the world’s most challenging problems. Additionally, I developed and updated curricula and served as an Instructor Evaluator. As an EOD Team Leader, I led and supervised teams and operations across multiple locations, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets against terrorism and bombing threats.Being a bomb technician involves much more than choosing between the red wire or blue wire. We are a diverse group of highly skilled and intelligent individuals who excel in any task we undertake. The motto "Initial Success or Total Failure" becomes our internal monologue; because, unfortunately, failure results in massive losses. I haven’t been trained to get it right; I have been forged to never get it wrong.My experience has also provided me with a robust background in physical security management. I have conducted threat assessments and site security in high-visibility and high-threat environments. I have supported the U.S. Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security in no-fail security plans and ADVON operations for world leaders and dignitaries. To further solidify my credentials, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Security Management.In my current role as a Technical Writer for an Air Force Communications Squadron, I leverage my security and technical expertise to develop and edit critical documentation for IT and cybersecurity systems. I write technical and user documentation, craft standard operating procedures, prepare detailed reports, and draft plans for mission continuity and disaster recovery. My ability to communicate complex technical information ensures all team members understand and can act on the information provided.I bring the same precision, problem-solving, and dedication to my role as a Technical Writer that I applied as an EOD professional. My proactive, never-pass-a-problem attitude, relentless adaptability, and unwavering commitment to improving processes make me a valuable asset to any team. As an intelligent, charismatic, and highly motivated leader, I continuously seek opportunities to enhance my skills and contribute to my organization’s success.
