In 2015 John was appointed as Commercial Lead on the Metrolink Expansion Programme managing a team of dedicated commercial professionals and is responsible for the commercial and contractual management of the programme. Previously he lead a combined Client/ Contractor team, in the management and delivery of utility service diversions required to accommodate the extensive light rail expansion project throughout Greater Manchester.

John joined Davis Langdon in 2008 as Associate in the Transport Sector Team to undertake the procurement and management of projects for national clients.Responsible for the successful preparation of Contract documentation for two major extensions of an existing Design, Construct and Maintain (DCM) contract for the Metrolink light rail network comprising Ashton and East Didsbury sections and Airport, Rochdale (RTC) and Oldham Town Centre (OTC) sections. This involved the detailed negotiation and preparation of specifications and design requirements as well as commercial and contractual components.

Project Director for Liverpool Land responsible for the procurement and management of multidisciplinary teams of consultants and contractors in the delivery of a variety of infrastructure projects from concept stages through planning and design to site implementation.Duties included budget management, stakeholder management, progress monitoring, and preparation of working programmes, technical/financial appraisals and advisor to the Operating Board with regard to technical, commercial and contractual issues.
