Sure, there are pockets of world class propositions delivered by some exceptional people. Unfortunately, I would argue this still isn’t the norm but it should be and it can be!I made the transition from the commission based transactional model to the fee based service model in 1998. 15 years before the regulator implemented a fee based proposition for investment and pension advice. I set up True Financial Planning 20 years ago to help other forward thinking planners to make the same transformational journey and it has been an absolute pleasure watching them flourish. Financial planning wealth management is something fundamentally different to financial advice. At the True Wealth Group we are growing a business through acquiring financial planning businesses who share our philosophy, building joint ventures and organically developing our team. We aim to deliver our vision of financial planning wealth management to as many people as we can. My vision is for this type of proposition to be the default service for wealthy individuals (whether delivered by us or other like-minded firms) rather than what I fear is still largely a transactional relationship, albeit one that is now paid for by fees rather than commission.
