Investment management is both my vocation and passion. The creation, guidance, and refinement over time and the business cycle of unique and efficient portfolios structured to achieve optimal outcomes drives my efforts in my work with individuals, families, charities, endowments and others.My career path has pursued this end. Having spent my early years in support roles acquiring basic skills, I first assumed portfolio management responsibilities in 1990. While I have managed stand-alone fixed income and equity strategies, I primarily seek comprehensive investment solutions. My fascination with the complexities and interactions of the macroeconomy and the financial markets and the practical application of this understanding motivates much of my work. I have also taught both micro and macroeconomics at the college level concurrent with my other duties. My studies of asset allocation and recognition of its importance in diversification and efficiency led me to craft and implement two comprehensive investment processes. The need to allocate to multiple asset classes (coupled with the impossibility of locating the investment management jack-of-all-trades) led me to the development of manager and fund selection processes for several companies. My transition into and service in leadership roles stemmed from a logical extension of these endeavors, the desire to apply my conclusions and practices more broadly, and a long-standing belief in the importance of collaboration and development in investment management.
