I am extremely passionate about helping people fulfil their potential and cannot imagine amore rewarding career than as an educator. As a current Teacher of Music, Iunderstand the privilege to be able to help shape the lives of young people through music.Music is a unique language of learning through interactive, engaging and practicalactivities and should always be developed in this way. A high quality music educationshould be available and accessible to all people regardless of their background oracademic ability and should be enhanced with a wide variety of activities of varyingmusical style.I continue to work as a professional musician, as I feel it is vastly important to have real-world experience when trying to understand the issues that face the music industry andthe arts. I have toured the UK and Europe as a musician and have gained invaluableexperience and knowledge of the music industry by doing so. I have also set up asuccessful DJ business, which I have taken to the Main Stage of Kendal Calling and theIsle of Wight festival. This self-employed work has helped me understand not only modernmusic technologies and industry but also how to operate as a business person. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sussex after finishing mystudies at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM). Throughout the ProfessionalMusicianship course at BIMM I have improved as a musician and developed a range ofcritical thinking and writing skills, whilst also building my confidence as a performer. I havestudied modules on the music industry, music theory, artist development and haveaccessed a wider knowledge of the history of popular music.In 2020 I completed my PGCE in Further Education & Adult Training at the University of Brighton.
