IIR Energy acquired TCT Data in November 2012 for its cutting edge technology and data warehouse. John managed the integration and product development from IIR Energy and TCT Data. He successfully launched the NatGas Live, NGL’s Live and Commodities Live platforms by normalizing and mining the core IIR data sets while combining them with the TCT fundamental data within the TCT framework. This platform was used to create customer driven research, which showcased IIR’s intelligence and the core data. John was a presenter at numerous industry conferences and gave many customer outlooks. His strong background in research, technology and product development helped IIR to create best in class products, which highlighted its core business strengths.

Founded TCT Data from concept to a growth oriented company. The concept was to normalize many diverse data sets so they could easily be manipulated within Excel and other tools for data analysis. John developed the web scrapers, business intelligence and SQL framework for TCT. Its ETL technology was extremely efficient and required minimal maintenance. TCT also developed an innovative Excel add-in to quickly analyze data sets and even download fully functional Excel models with just a couple of clicks. TCT was also on the leading edge of SQL via HTML, which allowed its customers the flexibility of a local data warehouse without the maintenance and expense. The data warehouse included data sets such as pipeline nominations, EIA, weather, prices and other energy centric information.

Proprietary trading company focused on speculating NYMEX natural gas and crude oil futures. Employed both fundamental and technical trading strategies for futures and options. Also, developed many proprietary data analysis programs and algorithms. This proprietary software was subsequently used to create the foundation of TCT Data.

Developed fundamental and quantitative analysis for ETG Capital, a hedge fund focused on natural gas and crude oil markets. Trading strategies included cross commodity spreads and program trading. Implemented new technology to improve and speed the data aggregation and analysis process.

Provided research and market analysis for the energy markets including Natural Gas, Crude Oil and regional Electricity. Medium-to-long term focus on trading futures primarily based on fundamental information including supply/demand, weather, storage and other fundamental information. Provided hedging advice to Huber Energy for their large physical natural gas portfolio.

Before the Enron collapse, was responsible for trading recycled paper products for the west coast. Brokered and negotiated deals to ship product to china and other countries. Prior to this position, held position as Manager of Risk Management and Accounting for a business division which focused on trading complex insurance based products. Also, held various positions as an associate and an analyst during tenure.

Provided accounting and audit services to many energy clients while preparing for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Received good exposure to the energy markets which provided foundation for later professional growth.
