Experienced Driving Instructor with a demonstrated history of working in both Local Authority and Oil & Energy industry. Skilled in Emergency Management, Fire Management, Driver Training, Emergency Response Driving, Risk Assessment, and Emergency Planning.Currently self employed as an Emergency Response Driving Instructor.I was employed for six years at Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College (R.L.E.S.C.) as a Defensive Driving and Emergency Vehicle driving instructor. This involved teaching Firefighters the importance of safe driving techniques especially driving large fire trucks whilst responding to Emergency incidents.I also deliver Defensive Driving courses for company employees and was one of two instructors involved in the Qatar Young Driver programme which was run during the summer of 2019 and was specially to help new drivers aged between 18-24 gain confidence and acquire safer driving techniques. This was well received by the participants and proved to reduce road traffic accidents within the participant group.R.L.E.S.C is primarily a college for firefighting training, and due to my previous Fire Service background, when called upon, I assisted with delivering many different types of fire training. I enjoyed this side of training so much that I was given the opportunity to pass the necessary N.F.P.A exams up to instructor level.I am a UK Government DVSA registered Large Vehicle Instructor, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (Grade A), a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists for all vehicle categories.I started my driving instructing career over 20 years ago with a small HGV training company in the Scottish Borders. During this time, I trained drivers in all vocational licence categories from B+E to C+E, including Mini-Buses and Coaches.I have 20 plus years of experience of Fire Emergency Response Driving and have been a driving instructor with the Fire Service for 11 years.
