About John Bilhartz
I’m an innovative, only-in-class Project Director with over 25 years of experience designing and building pipelines, compressors, and transfer stations in the midstream oil & gas industry. My extensive record of leading topflight technical teams in executing 65+ multimillion and multibillion-dollar energy construction projects while never once missing an in-service date or going over budget puts me in a class of my own. If you’re looking for an industry-leading construction manager and team leader who’s mastered every element of energy infrastructure project management, then I’m the person for your team!I have a strong record of designing and building extremely complex and history-making pipeline systems. As Project Director at Energy Transfer—the largest pipeline operator in the world by miles of pipeline and product volume—I built three pipeline systems that span the U.S. – Mexico border. These projects involved laying hundreds of miles of pipeline, building numerous measurement stations, and putting down hundreds of miles of fiber optics to enable communications with Energy Transfer’s WAHA system in West Texas. In addition to overseeing all aspects of design, international regulatory compliance, federal permitting, and construction, I also hand-selected and led best-in-class engineering and construction teams to ensure that the job was delivered on time and to exacting specifications. Again as Project Director, I spearheaded construction of Energy Transfer’s WAHA station, a 70,000 horsepower hubbing facility in West Texas that pumps to twelve interconnecting stations in the United States and Mexico. This project involved laying over 350 miles of new pipeline and the construction of 12 new fully bidirectional measurement stations. The WAHA has proved an enormous success: not only has it facilitated cross-bordered delivery of natural gas, but it has also set the standard for the cost of gas in both the United States and Mexico. My unmatched record of building extensive pipelines and processing plants combined with my people-first leadership style and ability to create new technologies to meet the complex and ever-evolving demands of the energy sector positions me to succeed in any senior construction management role.
