D2P is a public-private initiative between the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) to further the commercialization of ideas and intellectual property eminating from UW-Madison.

Xolve is a nanomaterials company applying its proprietary technologies in the areas of polymer composites and energy storage materials. I began this project from a technology transfer license, took it through three rounds of funding and made it one of the top three projects in its category in the world-- at one sixth of the capital employed by the other projects in its segment. Brought the company to commercialization and turned it over to a chemical industry executive to take through commercialization.

Lead this early stage biotech/biofuel start up from its inception through funding and development of a joint venture with a large Italian chemical company, the Italian government and an Italian university. Following the joint venture formation turned the company back to the CEO to execute on the joint venture.

Reviewed a range of opportunities present in the projects at Lucigen, in order to free up some value within the company. Chose a project in the biofuels area to spin off into a separate company (C-56 Technologies), and obtained funding for the new company.

Took this small university science spin-out from rough early stage to funding, professional manufacturing and profitability. Scientific founder came back to run the company following achievement of profitability.

Developed a new market segmentation and pricing strategy for Ohmeda's anesthesia product line that led to record profits and U.S. and global market share.
