Fabrication Manager
- Responsible for the members of the fabrication and CNC teams- Responsible for all sheet metal fabrication, ensuring timelines and part quality standards were met- Responsible for scheduling work (day and afternoon shift), cross-training on equipment, and overall development of the teams- Responsible for monitoring sheet metal inventories, submitting purchasing requests, ordering parts and/or service to address any machine issues, and addressing any tooling shortages- Responsible for CNC programming team (work assignments, addressing nesting efficiencies, technical issues, etc.). - Responsible for safe and efficient operation of laser, turret punching press, automated punch & bend line, multiple brake presses, deburring machine and forklifts- Created short and long term plans and initiatives. These included additional sheet metal racking to keep floor space free for easier material handling, replacing scrap bins with better ones, improved offcut sheet management, improved shop 5S, and improving employee space by bringing in a large lunch table and chairs- Utilized MRP (Delmia) tools including work orders and leveraged MRP processes to fully understand project costing - Continually communicated with sales and shipping any changes to delivery schedules, etc.- Facilitated in-depth tooling training for both fabrication and CNC teams using tooling vendor- Conducted daily production meetings with both shifts of fabrication team- Facilitated dimensionally accurate parts through first off (and subsequent) inspections, using profile jigs and having manufacturing engineering assist with critical inspections- Assisted HR with the selection of many new temporary and full time hires- Reviewed and approved weekly ADP payroll, as well as time off requests- Oversaw daily/weekly/monthly machine maintenance schedules- Planned and oversaw inventory counts- Volunteered for and became JHSC management co-chair, further improving safety policies within the company
