I'm John, an aspiring educator with a focus on social justice teaching as well as ensuring that all students have an equal opportunity to succeed in an ever-changing society. Going into my senior year at North Central College, I've put in many hours to promote the success of students throughout the Chicagoland area - this can be seen through my work at the YMCA Safe N' Sound Program, where I worked as a Youth Enrichment Counselor as well as a lead Summer Camp Counselor for children going into first grade as well as some time with children going into fourth grade, fifth grade, and middle school for the past three years. Furthermore, I've worked with students in classrooms as well in Indian Prairie School District 204 at Cowlishaw Elementary School in 4th grade, Woodridge District 68 in 6th grade, as well as my placement this year in Naperville District 203 in 4th grade. I've continued to show my dedication to the field of education through being selected to assist in the process of hiring two new renowned faculty members to the department of education at North Central College, as well as being selected to join two honors societies: Kappa Delta Pi and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
